The 12 x 12 Exhibition is open NOW

Yes, we had the opening night last night, and the quilts look great hanging in the exhibition space at the Hutt Arts Society in Myrtle St, Lower Hutt.

Congratulations to Lyn White who won Best in Show for her quilt called "Light Show at the Museum":

Who would have thought that the Pink category would draw the most entries!

Thank you to Kirsten Duncan who was the judge.  Kirsten was part of the Twelve by Twelve International Art Quilt challenge and some of her mini quilts are also on display.

12 x 12 Exhibition

Are you ready? Have you made your mini quilts yet? Did you hand them in at the AGM on Saturday?

Don't panic - you still have four weeks to come up with some great mini quilts for our 12 x 12 Exhibition at the Hutt Arts Society.  Entries close on 24 June at 4pm.  You can read all the rules on this page here.

Get creative people! Think outside the square - how many ideas can you pack into an area 12' x 12"?

It's going to be a great exhibition so join in and be proud to see your work hanging in the exhibition.

Sophie Wood

Sophie Wood was our guest speaker at our July meeting. You can read more about her here on her website, or follow her on Instagram and Facebook.

Sophie is a very talented art quilter from Christchurch.  She showed us some amazing quilts, and spoke about how she turns her ideas into quilts.  Our guild found her story inspiring.
